- Download (4.36 MB) MuSERA v.2.3 exclusively for Microsoft® Windows users.

- Download (800 KB) promoters and Download (456 KB) RefSeqGenes for hg19 to be used with sample data set.
- Users of operating systems other than Microsoft Windows®, for evaluation purposes may try the prepared Microsoft Windows® virtual machine on Oracle VirtualBox by performing the following procedure:
- Download and install the latest version of Oracle VirtualBox. You may also install VirtualBox Extension Pack for wide-screen support (you may also want to consider How to Change Screen Resolution of Displays in Windows 10).
- Download the archive with the prepared virtual machine (5.22 GB) [freely available for non commercial use].
- Extract the virtual machine from the archive as follows:
- Install a program to extract the 7-zip archive as follows (if not already installed):
- on Linux Debian and Ubuntu: sudo apt-get install p7zip-full
- on Linux CentOS and Fedora: yum install p7zip-full
- on Mac you may use Keka or B1
- Extract the archive as follows:
- on Linux use the following command: 7z x MuSERAVM.7z
- on Mac, follow the instructions of the archive extracting application that you chose.
- Add the MuSERA virtual machine to VirtualBox by either of the following methods:
- Browse to the path of the extracted virtual machine and under MuSERAVM folder double-click the MuSERAVM.vbox file; doing so Oracle VM VirtualBox window will pop-up and MuSERAVM will be available in the list.
- Run Oracle VM VirtualBox and choose Machine\Add, then browse to the path of the extracted virtual machine and under MuSERAVM folder select the MuSERAVM.vbox file.
- From Oracle VM VirtualBox window select MuSERAVM and click on the Start button.

- You may modify the provided virtual machine memory size when virtual machine is not properly running, as follows:
- In Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager window, select MuSERAVM.
- Click on "Settings"
- In settings window, select "System" from left panel
- In system section, choose "Motherboard" tab
- Using slider or the textbox of "Base Memory" change memory size
- Save settings by "OK" button.
